Quick flight cancellation claim

Had a flight annulé last summer. Flightright helped. Submitted my info online, they took care of the claim. Got paid a few months later. Easy process, no issues.

Good value for compensation

I used Flightright for an indemnisation vol retardé. It was my first time trying a service like this. I was looking for the best deal, and their commission rate seemed fair compared to others I'd looked at. I also got a small reduction on the success fee, which was nice. They handled everything, and I didn't pay anything upfront. Getting the compensation felt worth it, especially since I didn't have to do much myself. The process took a few months, but I expected that.

Consistent service for delays

This was my third time using Flightright, this time for an indemnisation vol retardé from a trip in December. I've always found their service reliable. They pretty much follow the same steps every time: you submit your flight details, they confirm eligibility, then they handle the rest. The communication is steady, not too much, not too little. My first claim took about four months, my second about three, and this one was also around three and a half months. It's good to know I can count on them when a flight goes sideways. Their commission percentage is consistent too, which helps.

What's the deal if they don't win the case? Do I still owe them money?

K Kate 2 months ago
Nah, if they don't win, you don't pay anything. It's 'no win, no fee' basically. That's why I went with them, less risk.

Pretty sure they only take a cut if they actually get you the compensation. So you're not out of pocket if the airline refuses or they can't get it.

I have a bunch of documents for my claim. Do I just upload them all at once? Like, boarding pass, booking confirmation, everything?

A Alex 2 months ago
Yeah, just gather everything you have – flight tickets, booking confirmation, any emails from the airline about the delay. They'll tell you if they need more, but better to upload it all upfront.

Basically, anything that proves you were on that flight and what happened. Boarding pass, e-ticket, maybe even a screenshot of the delay notice. The more info, the better for them.

Is it true they take a pretty big chunk of the compensation? like what percentage are we talking?

D Derek B. 2 months ago
Their commission is usually around 25-30% of the compensation, plus VAT if applicable. It's pretty standard for these services, not super cheap but they do all the work.

Yeah, they take a percentage. It varies a bit, but it's clearly stated before you agree to anything. For me, it was worth it not having to deal with the airline myself.

thinking about using either Flightright or AirHelp for my cancelled flight. anyone have experience with both and can say which is better?

J Josh Lindqvist 3 months ago
I've only used Flightright, and they were good. Heard good things about AirHelp too, though. I guess it really comes down to their commission rates and how fast they are. Might be worth checking both for your specific case.

I used AirHelp once, and it was okay, but then tried Flightright for another flight and found them a bit more transparent with updates. Both are legit though, just personal preference probably.

my flight was delayed because of a strike by the airline staff. Is that something they can actually help with?

G Greg 2 months ago
Yes! Strikes by airline staff are usually covered under EU law, so you should definitely pursue that. I think they can help with those cases.

Afaik, airline strikes are definitely something they can claim for. It's not usually considered 'extraordinary circumstances' that would let the airline off the hook.
